Jerry, Sara Put Dancing Shoes Back On
The Dancing with the Stars tour is getting a little extra Springer in its step.
Fancy-footed reality contestants Jerry Springer and Sara Evans have both announced plans to join the national road show for portions of the 38-city tour.
Springer will join Dancing with the Stars—The Tour for five dates, gracing the stages in Chicago, Nashville, Cleveland, Cincinnati and Columbus, Ohio.
"Dancing has become my life!" the talk show host said. "My feet won't stop moving, and this will be a great promotion for my new national chain of dance studios (just kidding)."
If only that wit was more evident during the show, he may have lasted longer than seven weeks.
As for Evans, she's signed on to join the tour for one night only, Jan. 21 in Nashville.
"I am so excited that Nashville is a stop on the tour," she said. "I can't wait to see everyone again and be a part of the show! Hopefully there will be some downtime so I can take them to some of my favorite places in Nashville."
The country star pulled out of the ABC hit in October when her private life was catapulted into public fodder. The dropout came as Evans filed for divorce from Craig Schelske, accusing him of having an affair with the couple's former nanny and, more damningly, of having a porn addiction.
Schelske fired back by alleging it was Evans who was having an affair, and the couple soon called for a public cease-fire.
Her professional life, at least, seems to have rebounded nicely.
Evans and Springer will join previously announced show ponies Joey McIntyre, Lisa Rinna, Willa Ford, Harry Hamlin, Joey Lawrence and season two champ Drew Lachey. All the stars participating in the tour, aside from Hamlin and McIntyre, will be paired with their original professional partners from the show: Cheryl Burke, Kym Johnson, Edyta Sliwinska, Karina Smirnoff and Louis van Amstel, who's choreographing the tour.
But the Nashville date won't be the first time Springer and Evans have shared a stage.
At the singer's Dec. 1 concert in Merrillville, Indiana, Springer appeared on stage to join his former competitor in belting out several classic tunes.
Dancing with the Stars—The Tour kicks off Dec. 18 in San Diego.
