Stella's Stellar Stork Delivery
There may be turmoil in the house of McCartney, but now, there's also joy—a bundle of it.
Fashion designer and Beatle offspring Stella McCartney welcomed her second child with hubby Alasdhair Willis in London Friday, daughter Bailey Linda Olwyn Willis.
Stephane Jaspar, McCartney's spokesman, told the British press that both mother and baby are doing well.
The babe, who owes her middle names to the 35-year-old's late mother, Linda, and her parent's apparent love of Welsh monikers, tipped the scales at 7 pounds, 14 ounces.
It's the second child for McCartney and Willis, who also have a one-year-old son, Miller.
The tot is the fourth grandchild but first granddaughter for Paul McCartney, who also has two other grandsons by his 37-year-old photographer daughter, Mary.
The McCartney matriarch, Linda, died of breast cancer in 1998.
Stella McCartney, who tied the knot with Willis in 2003, will likely take a brief maternity leave before getting back to the business of designing streetwise garb for such high-powered pals as Gwyneth Paltrow and Kate Moss.
The fashionista, who started her namesake clothing line in 2002 after decamping as Chloe's main designer, recently showed her latest collection during Paris Fashion Week, for which her superstar father admired her handiwork from the front row.
A fervent animal rights crusader (like her mom) who refuses to use animal skins or furs in her clothing and has close ties to PETA, Stella McCartney is currently prepping for the launch of an organic skin-care line, fresh off her win as the Organic Style Woman of the Year in New York last year.
The stork delivery capped off an otherwise trying week for the McCartney clan.
Earlier in the week, Granddad Paul was back in court as part of his headline-grabbing, increasingly acrimonious divorce from Heather Mills McCartney. Adding yet another chapter to the high-profile saga, Mills McCartney decided to restrict the duties of her counsel, London law firm Mischon de Reya, to matters of custody and spousal support and represent herself in applications dealing with divisions of the couple's property.
