Pamela Anderson, Marriage Counselor
Looks like Emily Post has got herself some competition.
Fresh from her marital bust-up with Kid Rock, Pamela Anderson has thrown her hat into the advice ring, offering some sound advice to prospective couples via her Website.
"Don't get married on vacation," she writes in her online diary.
It apparently goes without saying not to repeat the mistake three times.
The sage pronouncement follows Anderson's equally short marital entry, marking the end of her nearly four-month, three-ceremony union with Kid Rock.
Last week, under the headline "Divorce," the 39-year-old Borat star confirmed the demise, writing, "Yes, it's true. Unfortunately impossible."
The succinct statement followed news that Anderson and Rock (whose real name is Robert Ritchie) filed dueling divorce petitions in Los Angeles Superior Court on Nov. 27, each placing the blame for the downfall of their short-lived marital bliss on irreconcilable differences.
We're just waiting for Anderson's entry on how long a couple should wait to make sure the marriage takes before they agree to pose for a Newlyweds of the Year magazine spread.
As it happens, Anderson and her 35-year-old estranged rocker hubby posed for just such an ill-timed honor in the latest issue of GQ. As it also happens, in the accompanying interview, Anderson offered some more gems from her font of matrimonial wisdom.
"You have a great time together. You break up for a couple of years. Then, you come back together," she said of the key to a healthy relationship. "Then, it's like you're really newlyweds, and you're really excited to be together. And live happily ever after. That's my theory. That's my advice."
There's always next time.
Still, all's well that ends amicably.
In a posting to her Website Monday, the mother of two (with ex-husband Tommy Lee) said that the divorce drama, still just a week old, was already over and that things had returned to the status quo.
"Now that things have calmed down—I think—I just want to say it's great to get back to normal life. We are doing great. Thx for all the support."
