Gotti Star Busted

Apparently, when you're Growing Up Gotti, Johnny Law is never far behind.

Police confirmed Tuesday that Frank Agnello, the teenage grandson of the late Dapper Don John Gotti and costar of the A&E reality series with mother Victoria and "Hotti Gotti" brothers Carmine and John, was arrested on drug charges earlier this month in Long Island.

The well-gelled 16-year-old was behind the wheel of a rented Chrysler Pacifica Nov. 10 when he was pulled over by police in the town of Dix Hills for running a stop sign.

According to a spokeswoman with the Suffolk County Police Department, officers on the scene smelled marijuana in the vehicle, and a subsequent search turned up a small amount of pot as well as "a quantity" of painkillers (morphine and OxyContin), for which he did not have a prescription.

The reality-TV star and two passengers were taken into custody and booked on criminal possession of marijuana, as well as criminal possession of a controlled substance—both misdemeanors that carry a maximum penalty of up to a year in prison. Agnello was also issued a summons for driving without a license, and the SUV was impounded.

Victoria Gotti turned up to deal with the mess, posting $200 bail to get her son out of the slammer.

Agnello's attorney, W. Adam Mandelbaum, said his client is innocent.

"He was not at all caught with morphine. That's a mistake," the lawyer told E! Online. "He's going to plead not guilty when he goes to the arraignment. He was not found with any drugs in his person, and the only drugs that were found were in a handbag, and he wasn't carrying the handbag. Bottom line—the guy had nothing on him."

An arraignment is scheduled for Jan. 24 in Central Islip.

Growing Up Gotti, which followed the lives of Victoria and her three sons, was whacked last year by A&E after three seasons. There's still no word whether the cable net will move ahead with a long-rumored spinoff about the boys being "grown up," but based on Agnello's predicament, it won't be for lack of material.
