Hasselhoff's Money Off the Record
It took a few weeks, but David Hasselhoff and ex-wife Pamela Bach have finally sealed the deal.
The actor's attorney, Melvin Goldman, said Monday that Bach has reviewed documents assessing her former husband's income and assets and that the pair have reached an agreement that will keep the ins and outs of Hasselhoff's financial status under wraps.
Per reports, Bach showed up for court Monday wheeling a little cart that held two boxes of papers. Hasselhoff was not present for the brief meeting.
The issue of just how private the former Baywatch star's divorce proceedings deserved to be came about in October, when Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Mark Juhas noted that California supermarket magnate Ron Burkle had lost a bid to keep the terms of his divorce settlement secret.
Juha was also expected to consider who besides Bach and her legal team should have access to the financial documents, as well as whether Bach should have carte blanche in determining who she discusses the matter with.
Hasselhoff and Bach were reportedly close to reaching an arrangement toward the end of last month, but they may have been sidetracked when the court mistakenly unsealed a brief, spilling previously confidential information into the public record.
The documents included an allegation by Hasselhoff that Bach was drunk at their daughter's 16th birthday party, drug test results showing that Bach had tested positive for cocaine in August, and the Hoff's statement that Bach was unrightfully paranoid about him having an affair with the family's nanny.
Despite the indiscreet back-and-forth that Hasselhoff and Bach have been engaging in since he filed for divorce—and she counter-filed—in January after 16 years of marriage, the duo were able to hammer out a shared custody arrangement involving their daughters, Taylor and Hayley.
Next up in the Hasselhoff divorce saga is a hearing scheduled for Dec. 4 regarding Bach's request for temporary spousal support. The split itself became official on July 26 after months of bickering.
Meanwhile, the Hoff is preparing to take on the role of flamboyant musical director Roger DeBris in an upcoming Las Vegas-based production of The Producers.
"I need to have fun," the 54-year-old actor told Reuters earlier this month. "God came to me and said you have had enough stuff in your life over the last year. Here's fun."
