Sara Evans' Hubby Fights Back

Sara Evans has had her say. Now it's her husband's turn.

Craig Schelske, the country singer's estranged other half, responded to the allegations laid out in his wife's divorce petition Friday and ordered Evans to take back the "outrageous claims" she made about him.

"He has demanded retractions of those allegations, an apology and that the further spreading of false information be stopped immediately," a statement from Schelske's legal team read.

Schelske denied Evans' accusation that he had been carrying on an affair with the couple's nanny and alleged that it was in fact Evans who had committed adultery.

In court documents obtained by E! News, Schelske claimed that the day before Evans dropped out of Dancing with the Stars and filed her scandalous divorce petition, he "discovered Wife's intimate relationship with another man not her husband and an argument ensued between the parties."

Some reports have suggested that Schelske accused his wife of having an affair with fellow country singer Kenny Chesney, prompting Chesney to issue an official denial of any untoward behavior.

"The allegations that Kenny had an affair with Sara are impossible and totally untrue. Kenny views Sara as a friend and he is saddened by what she's going through," his publicist said in a statement Friday.

Meanwhile, Alison Clinton, the former nanny whom Evans accused of bedding her husband, reportedly passed a lie detector test in an effort to clear her name. The results of the test were to be detailed on Entertainment Tonight and The Insider on Friday.

"I told people I would take this test to demonstrate my honesty and integrity," Clinton said in a statement issued by her lawyer. "I also thought it was important for someone else to pick the polygraph expert and not be hand-picked by me or my attorney.

"I remain saddened and surprised by Sara's attempt to drag me into what should have been her private matter. I will continue to fight to clear my name and protect my family, who has been hurt by these accusations. Nothing short of a complete retraction and apology from Sara will suffice."

In his court filing, Schelske also denied Evans' claim that he harbored a porn obsession, but admitted that on one occasion the couple was watching an adult movie together when one of their children entered the room unexpectedly.

He shot down Evans' allegation that he was in possession of pictures of himself having sex with another woman and more than 100 shots of himself in a state of arousal.

In fact, Schelske denied the existence of "any sexual photographs of himself with any other women as there are no authentic photographs of husband unclothed with any sexual partner or alone except as taken by Wife or with Wife on the single occasion in which both parties participated."

He said he "regrets the incident," but that he and Evans were acting as two consenting adults at the time the photos were taken.

The warring couple wed in 1993. In happier times, their union produced three children: seven-year-old Avery, three-year-old Olivia and two-year-old Audrey.

According to the statement released by his legal team, Schelske will continue to work on repairing the damage to his reputation while taking "whatever steps are necessary…to protect his three children in any way he can."
