Longoria's Latest "Desperate" Mishap

Eva Longoria may or may not be nursing a broken heart. She's definitely nursing some bruised ribs.

The pint-sized actress was taken to the hospital Wednesday after falling on the set of Desperate Housewives, marking Longoria's second onset injury in a little over a year.

"Yesterday Eva slipped on one of the stairs coming out of her trailer," publicist Liza Anderson told E! News. "She was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital in Burbank for X-rays. Nothing is broken, but her ribs are very bruised.

"She expects to return to work as scheduled."

The rep also said that Longoria still plans to travel to Paris later Thursday.

On Wednesday morning, the 31-year-old actress told Ryan Seacrest that she was flying to France to meet up with Tony Parker, who's back in his native country playing exhibition games.

Longoria admitted that the two were going through a rough patch but said that rumors of a breakup between her and the San Antonio Spurs star were untrue.

Reports of trouble in paradise surfaced last week, with their respective publicists doing little to dispel speculation of a split.

"Eva and Tony are going through a very difficult time right now, just like any other couple with extremely demanding careers," Anderson said in a statement.

Parker's rep seemed to paint a much rosier picture, refusing to even acknowledge the notion that the relationship was under duress.

"I'll officially confirm that everything is great with Tony and Eva," a spokesman for the San Antonio Spurs told E! News. "Their relationship is as solid as ever...in fact Eva will be joining us for part of our trip to France."

On Tuesday night, Longoria logged some face time on Dancing with the Stars, showing up in support of contestant Mario Lopez, a longtime pal. Longoria even went so far as to don a self-bedazzled T-shirt reading "Vote for Mario." But both she and the Saved by the Bell alum deny their relationship is anything more than platonic.

Longoria flat-out denied any Lopez romance to Seacrest Wednesday, while Lopez told People that he's known the actress "for years. She's like a sister."

Wisteria Lane is apparently just as dangerous onscreen as off. The rib injury marks Longoria's latest Desperate mishap. A year ago, Longoria was briefly hospitalized with minor injuries after she was bumped on the head by an errant pole while shooting a scene at Pasadena City College.

The accident-prone set claimed another victim last April, when a light bulb exploded and shards of glass got lodged in Teri Hatcher's eye.
