Ellen, Regis, Restless Rack Up Daytime Emmy Noms

Ellen DeGeneres just got eight more reasons to dance.

While CBS' The Young and the Restless scored a commanding 17 nominations for the 35th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards this morning, DeGeneres took the lead among her chatty peers, racking up the most nods among her talk-show brethren.

In addition to getting singled out with an Outstanding Talk Show Host nomination, The Ellen DeGeneres Show is also up for Outstanding Talk Show (Entertainment), vying against Rachael Ray and The View.

Notably absent from the category, however, is perpetual favorite Live With Regis & Kelly, which this year once again entered itself into the Talk Show race after last year's ill-fated foray into the Outstanding Morning Program category. While it earned a nomination last year, it ended up the biggest loser, after the two other shows in the field tied for the Emmy.

Live wires Philbin and Ripa weren't completely left out of the ballot box this year. They're up in the Outstanding Talk Show Host race against DeGeneres and View crew of Barbara Walters, Elisabeth Hasselbeck, Joy Behar, Whoopi Goldberg and Sherri Shepherd.

Philbin is also guaranteed walking away from the June 20 show with at least one piece of hardware: He was already announced as the recipient of this year's Lifetime Achievement Award.

And while Ray racked up an Outstanding Talk Show nod, unlike last year, she found herself edged out for an individual nomination. Not so yummo.

The Outstanding Talk Show (Informative) category, meanwhile, pits Dr. Phil, The Tyra Banks Show and PBS' A Place of Our Own against each other.

Discovery's Cash Cab, Jeopardy! and The Price Is Right will vie for cash and prizes—or maybe just the prize for Outstanding Game Show.

Cash Cab's Ben Bailey and Jeopardy!'s Alex Trebek were singled out for Game Show Host props, though the price was apparently wrong for newbie Drew Carey, who was bumped by Wheel of Fortune stalwart Pat Sajak.

Today, Good Morning America and CNN's America Morning are up for Outstanding Morning Program this year. Five nominees made the final cut for Outstanding Lifestyle Program: the Food Network's Everyday Italian and Nigella Express, PBS' Gourmet's Diary of a Foodie and Lidia's Italy and DIY Network's Witch Crafts.

Outstanding Lifestyle Host will see a faceoff among Barefoot Contessa's Ina Garten, Boy Meets Grill's Bobby Flay, Everyday Italian's Giada De Laurentiis, Nigella Express' Nigella Lawson and the titular host of Food Trip With Todd English.

As for the sudsy side of the nominations, The Young and the Restless, per usual, cleaned up, contending with General Hospital, Guiding Light and One Life to Live for the all-important Outstanding Drama Series category.

The awards will be held at Los Angeles' Kodak Theatre June 20 and aired live on ABC. Get the complete list of nominees.
