K-Fed Giving Fans the Boot
Kevin Federline may be riding his wife's coattails, but now fans have the chance to walk in his shoes.
In an effort to rack up some early sales for his upcoming album, Playing with Fire, K-Fed will give away the sneakers he wore during his critically panned debut performance at last month's Teen Choice Awards to a fan who pre-orders the disc off Federline's official Website.
The slightly used kicks will be given away to one lucky buyer of the disc, due out Oct. 31 on Federation Records. Adding insult to injury--er, sweetening the pot--Federline will also autograph the shoes.
But wait, there's more.
Likely resigning himself to the fact that there are few people who would actually fork over cash for a Federline album without the promise of a little something extra in return, Sutton Pierce's baby daddy is turning his online presale into a veritable clearing house.
The shoe giveaway, enticing as it may be, is actually the second prize award for agreeing to take an album off Sony's hands.
The grand prize for a would-be listener is a trip for two to Los Angeles for two nights and three days, during which time the winner would attend Federline's Halloween album release party. As no Federline promotional gig is complete without a Britney tie-in, his Website assures credit card holders that his better half will be hosting the soiree.
But the "Lose Control" singer isn't stopping there--contrary to popular opinion, nearly everyone who purchases a copy of the album will be a bona fide winner.
Ten runners-up, all of whom will be chosen at random, will receive a replica of the Federation medallion that his site claims he wears "almost every day." The first 500 orders will also receive an autographed headshot of the rapper.
No trailer's complete without one.
If sales go according to plan, it'll turn out to be a banner fall for the former househusband. Not only will Federline stretch his acting chops by playing an arrogant thug on CSI, he's also provided the inspiration for a killer storyline on Law & Order's season premiere, and, as if that weren't enough, continued to prove his virility to a non-doubting public.
Federline and Spears welcomed their second child together--his fourth overall--last Tuesday, son Sutton Pierce.
The aspiring rapper is also prepping for a promotional tour this October, though no dates or locations have been named. In the meantime, he's trying his hand at modeling, appearing as the face of Five Star Vintage clothing in print ads appearing next month.
