Sheen and Richards' Summer Resolution
Who needs animosity in August?
Charlie Sheen and Denise Richards apparently don't. According to the estranged couple's attorneys, the pair have "amicably resolved" the various issues that have been gnawing at them since Richards opened full-fledged divorce proceedings against her hubby in January.
Those "issues" included a restraining order obtained by Richards in April that had been keeping Sheen at least 300 yards away from her and their two daughters; her claims that her supposedly drug-and-gambling-addict husband had threatened to kill her; Sheen's alleged porn and prostitute habits; and Richards' overall fear for her safety. Not to mention Sheen's denial that any of Richards' allegations were true.
Neither Richards' attorney, Neal Hersh, nor Sheen's lawyer, Lance Spiegel, would comment on the details of the resolution reached Monday during a private hearing in Los Angeles Superior Court, but they said that the restraining order--which was temporarily extended last month--has been dropped.
They also said that no official judgment was rendered pertaining to the divorce and no upcoming court dates have been scheduled.
A Sept. 12 custody hearing has been X-ed off the docket, as well. Sheen has been having supervised visits with two-year-old Sam and one-year-old Lola once a week since May. The Emmy-nominated actor is seeking joint custody of the girls.
The Two and a Half Men star also happens to be seeking a million-dollar-per-episode paycheck for his role on the CBS sitcom next year. But a different set of judges will decide that one.
Richards, 35, who is now romantically attached to Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora--and no longer friends with Sambora ex Heather Locklear--originally filed for divorce from Sheen, 40, in March 2005 when she was six months pregnant with their second child.
The two attempted a reconciliation in the fall, full of public diamond ring-wearing and declarations of happiness on late night talk shows, but Richards was back in court Jan. 4 to carry on with the divorce.
