Kate Hudson Loses Guy

Kate Hudson can tell you how to lose a guy after five-plus years of marriage.

The Almost Famous star and her rocker hubby Chris Robinson have called it quits, Hudson's rep, Brad Cafarelli told E! News.

"Kate Hudson and Chris Robinson have confirmed that they are separated," Cafarelli stated.

A rep for Robinson told the AP he had "no information to report."

The duo wed in Aspen on Dec. 31, 2000 after dating for about a year. Their son, Ryder Russell, was born in January 2004.

In happier times, Hudson gushed about how she fell for her husband almost instantaneously.

"We were telling each other we loved each other by the fourth day. I moved in in a week," she told E! Online in February 2003. "I think no matter what, when you and the person you're supposed to be with find each other, you can't do anything wrong."

However, in more recent interviews, Hudson's views on relationships have been noticeably darker.

"No one should get married if they think it?s going to be a fairy tale," she told the British edition of Elle magazine for the September cover story.

"I don?t like this idea of the perfect marriage. People can be in love madly and deeply and go through so much and still end up together. That?s what you hope for."

The Oscar-nominated actress also raised eyebrows last summer when she told Access Hollywood that she did not believe monogamous relationships were realistic. Though she stressed she had no plans to stray from Robinson, she added that if he cheated on her, she wouldn't want to know about it.

"Just don't get caught," she advised.

In August 2004, the couple defended their union after Star magazine ran a story with the headline, "Kate Hudson Marriage on the Rocks?"

"We are very, very happy," Hudson told Us Weekly at the time. "There are a million wonderful things I could say about my husband. Those rumors are not true, not true, not true."

"We will make romance out of any situation," Robinson added.

Apparently, this is one situation beyond their romance-making abilities.
