Girl Number Three for Harrelson
Cheers to Woody Harrelson and family.
The actor became a father of three Saturday when he and his wife, Laura Louie, welcomed their third daughter together, People reported. They have named her Makani Ravello.
In an interview in the June 12 issue of Newsweek, Harrelson talked about choosing the locale for the birth of baby number three.
"It was between Italy and Ireland," he said. "I was pulling for Ireland, but Laura preferred Italy, so that was that." Harrelson and Louie have been married since 1998.
The 44-year-old actor, almost as well known for his environmentalism and hemp-friendly attitude as he is for his Oscar-nominated role in The People vs. Larry Flynt or for playing a media-hungry maniac in Natural Born Killers, released this statement:
"In this crazy patriarchal world we live in, we are doing our part to balance the energy. We are proud to announced the completion of our goddess trilogy with the birth of our third daughter, Makani Ravello, born on June 3."
That sounds about right, coming from the man who started one of Los Angeles' first oxygen bars.
In a more mainstream move, Harrelson dished about his wife's pregnancy last year during an appearance on the Late Show with David Letterman.
"The wife is preggers...and we've narrowed it down to me," he said.
Harrelson and Louie, 41, have been living in Maui with their daughters Deni Montana, 13, and Zoe Giordano, 9.
Harrelson is currently onscreen in Robert Altman's latest, A Prairie Home Companion, with Meryl Streep, Kevin Kline and Lily Tomlin, among others. The Emmy winner also had a stint on the London stage earlier this year in Night of the Iguana and started shooting The Walker, costarring Kristin Scott Thomas and Lauren Bacall, in April. Harrelson plays the title character, a gay escort who provides an obliging arm for the cr?me de la cr?me of Washington D.C.'s society ladies.
