Mindy McCready's Warrant Woes
If Mindy McCready's aiming for rock bottom, she's right on target.
Less than one month after a failed suicide attempt and just a few months after she was beaten up by a jealous boyfriend, the country crooner now faces an arrest warrant for her flaky behavior involving a drug probation violation.
Last month, McCready did not show up in a Florida court to face charges of violating her probation stemming from a drug charge involving illegally trying to fill a forged OxyContin prescription in Tennessee. At the time, she was fined $4,000, sentenced to three years of supervised probation and ordered to perform 200 hours of community service.
Though she had apparently tried to overdose on pills and booze just a week before the hearing, her lawyer failed to produce a doctor's note excusing her from the hearing. That, coupled with the fact that McCready has now twice violated her probation, was enough for a judge to issue a warrant.
Since this is the "Guys Do It All the Time" singer's second probation violation, she cannot post bond upon arrest and will likely serve jail time, according to authorities in the Williamson County Sheriff?s office.
McCready, who was once the darling of Nashville and the fianc?e of modern-day Superman Dean Cain, first violated her probation in May in Tennessee when she was picked up for driving under the influence and operating a car with a suspended license. She posted $5,000 bail and was released.
Then, she left Tennessee without her probation officer's permission (and subsequently got into hot water in Arizona) for her involvement in an alleged car jacking in Arizona. At the time, her lawyer said she was helping the police nab a con artist.
After the DUI, she was beaten unconscious by her one-time fianc? William McKnight, who was charged with attempted murder. The two later reconciled, and he was the recipient of a four-page suicide note during the OD incident in July.
Reps for the 29-year-old singer could not immediately be reached for comment.
