Pink Pops the Question
It took a few years, but Pink is finally ready to get her engagement party started.
The two-time Grammy-winning star took matters into her own hands over the weekend and proposed to her longtime boyfriend, motocross champ Carey Hart, according to Us Weekly.
Hart, 29, was participating in the Pro 250 racing finals in Mammoth, California, when the 25-year-old multiplatinum-selling singer reportedly popped the question by writing "Will you marry me?" on a board in the pit area. A source tells the magazine that an incredulous Hart asked, "Are you serious?" She was, and he accepted.
No date has yet been set by the couple, who have been together for three years. It will be the first marriage for both.
They split their time between Los Angeles and Las Vegas, where they met at the 2001 X Games.
Aside from his extreme day job, Hart appears as one of the housemates on the upcoming edition of VH1's The Surreal Life, debuting July 10.
Meanwhile, his newly minted fiancée, whose real name is Alecia Moore, is having a busy year after a relatively quiet 2004.
The mohawk-sporting "Get the Party Started" singer has been recording a follow-up to 2003's Try This and recently wrapped work on her first major feature film role in the upcoming horror flick Catacombs.
Pink, who had a small role in Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle, had been set to star in a Janis Joplin biopic called The Gospel According to Janis, but that project was scuttled in the face of competition from a rival project starring Ren?e Zellweger.
Pink is the second pop princess to embrace monogamy in recent days.
Avril Lavigne confirmed earlier this week that she agreed to marry her boyfriend, Sum 41 rocker Deryck Whibley, after he proposed over the weekend.
