Osbournes Nix Play Due to Illness

The Osbournes' string of bad luck continues.

First, a fire breaks out on Good Friday at the heavy metal couple's English mansion. Now Aimee Osbourne, the eldest daughter of Ozzy and Sharon, was forced to pull out of performing in The Vagina Monologues with her mom after a breast cancer scare, a spokeswoman said.

Tuesday's opening night performance in London's West End was supposed to be the pair's stage debut.

But according to a statement released by the rep, the family decided to fly back to Los Angeles over the weekend so Aimee, 21, could undergo surgery to have a lump removed from her breast.

"The operation went very well on the whole but there have been a few minor complications and she will be having more treatment and lots of rest over the next few weeks," said Sharon Osbourne, who knows a thing or two about cancer having battled the disease after being diagnosed in 2002.

She did not disclose further details about her daughter's condition.

"We're sure she'll make a complete recovery," Osbourne added. "Thanks so much for all of your support--you've all been fabulous."

If fans of MTV's The Osbournes aren't familiar with Aimee, that's because she was the only member of the hard-rocking clan not to appear regularly in their famed reality series, reportedly because she was publicity shy, unlike younger siblings Kelly and Jack, who used the show to launch careers as a budding popster and music executive respectively.

Aimee's health problem and the Vagina withdrawal is just the latest in a series of domestic mishaps to befall the 56-year-old former Black Sabbath frontman and his brood.

After family matriarch Sharon's successful recovery from cancer three years ago, Jack checked into rehab at the same time Ozzy admitted to falling off the wagon and nearly losing his marriage.

Then in December 2003, the Prince of F---ing Darkness suffered a near-death experience after crashing his all-terrain quad bike at their Buckinghamshire estate. The accident left him with a broken collarbone, six broken ribs, and a broken vertebra in his neck.

And last but not least, Ozzy unsuccessfully tackled some would-be jewel thieves who invaded his home and made off with family heirlooms, including a gold wedding ring belonging to his manager-wife.

Now that The Osbournes has run its course, signing off last month after four bleepin' seasons, let's hope the curse has been lifted from America's favorite dysfunctional family.
