Mary-Kate Back to School
Mary-Kate Olsen is matriculating again.
After skipping out for a week in the middle of her first semester at New York University, the teen titan returned to the Big Apple over the weekend and has resumed her studies with twin sis Ashley, publicist Michael Pagnotta confirmed.
"Mary-Kate is back in New York and in school this week," he said Tuesday.
On Oct. 15, the brunette half of the Olsen twins hopped a private jet bound for her hometown of Los Angeles for some unspecified "personal business," according to Pagnotta.
Her absence fed tabloid headlines. She was on the verge of dropping out! She had suffered a relapse of anorexia! She was homesick! Pagnott waved away the speculation, telling E! Online last week that Mary-Kate's "health is good."
"Some days are better than others," he said, adding that her "treatment for her eating disorder is an ongoing daily activity, wherever she is."
Pagnotta said that Mary-Kate cleared the trip with her professors in advance and added that the 18-year-old mogul has, along with her sister, taken over most responsibilities regarding their multimillion-dollar media empire, necessitating business travel atypical of the average frosh.
The former Full House starlets are enrolled in NYU's Gallatin School of Indivualized Study, a non-traditional college where the siblings can customize their undergraduate curriculum. Many of the courses are seminars and rely on term papers for grades, not exams. Mary-Kate's studies include literature and acting classes.
It also allows them plenty of time for extracurricular activities, such as partying.
According to People magazine, the sisters went out and celebrated Mary-Kate's return Sunday evening with dinner at one of Manhattan's poshest eateries, Next Door Nobu, where they were reportedly accompanied by Ashley's new beau, restaurateur Scott Sartiano, and another unidentified man.
Although Mary-Kate's back to school, Ashley will soon be leaving. She's expected in Los Angeles next week on business.
