Pink Leaves Party in Prague
Pink hardly had time to get the party started in Prague before she caught the first plane out.
The punky popster had planned on spending a few days unwinding in the Czech Republic capital last weekend following a concert there, but a bombing gave her second thoughts, according to the Associated Press.
An explosion ripped through a local casino on Sunday afternoon, a few hours before Pink (real name: Alecia Moore) was scheduled to perform at the Sazka Arena for 5,500 fans.
The M!ssundaztood singer went on with her show, but she decided to cut short her vacation and flew out of the country immediately afterward.
The attack occurred in front of Prague's Casino Royal, not far from Pink's hotel. The blast injured 18 bystanders, many of whom were foreign tourists, including one U.S. citizen who still remains hospitalized.
Czech police continue to investigate the apparent car-bombing incident, which they believe might have been meant for the owner of the casino, Assaf Abutbul, an Israeli citizen.
Pink's publicist could not be reached for comment Wednesday. However, a local concert promoter said the violence was just a little too close for comfort for the multiplatinum-selling rocker, and she decided to bolt after her show.
Pink's next scheduled gig is in Denmark on Thursday. She has 11 more dates left on her European itinerary, including stops in Germany, France, Iceland, Belgium, Switzerland and England.
Aside from promoting her third album, Try This, the Grammy winner is also preparing for her big-screen debut, playing Janice Joplin in a biopic to be directed by Penelope Spheeris.
Filming is expected to start later this summer.
