Britney Ex Tells All

As Britney Spears prepares for her second strut down the aisle, her first (sorta) husband has decided to spill the secrets of her marital misadventures in January.

Jason Alexander, Spears' childhood pal from Kentwood, Louisiana, recently dished out the juicy details of the pair's Vegas coupling spree in an interview with the British tab News of the World.

"I didn't tell the world about this before because I still hoped we'd get back together," Alexander explained to the News, which paid for the account. "But I now realize she won't come back to me."

Though Spears dismissed the quickie marriage as "a joke" that went too far, it apparently meant more to Alexander, who was dismayed that the pop tart had the union annulled after a brief 55 hours.

The pair originally headed out to Las Vegas to celebrate New Year's Eve. On Jan. 3, they got married. By Jan. 5, their marriage was over--but Alexander clung to hopes that Spears would come back to him. However, after she announced her plans to wed dancer Kevin Federline, he decided to make an announcement of his own.

According to Alexander, it was Spears who proposed to him, as the pair lay nestled in bed together in their hotel suite after several nights of "mind-blowing and rough" sex, during which the couple "didn't use any precautions."

"Afterward, we were chatting in bed, cuddled up and naked, saying we didn't want the trip to end when she said, 'I want to ask you something, but I don't know how to.' I told her she could ask me anything," Alexander said.

"She acted really shy and said, 'Will you marry me?' I said yes, and she jumped out of bed, flung her jeans on and yelled, 'Let's do it now.' "

The pair rushed to a local wedding chapel and Alexander put down $700 for "the best package they could do." Their limo driver walked Spears down the aisle.

"I think he was a bit gobsmacked, but he did it," Alexander recalled, injecting a bit of British parlance into his speech for the benefit of the tabloid's readership. (Or so we'll choose to believe.)

After their marriage was finalized, the pair returned to their hotel to revel in wedded bliss--and Alexander got his first inkling that he might not fit into his pop-tart wife's world as neatly as he had hoped.

"She kept saying how happy she was, but when we got back to the room, her friends didn't congratulate us, they just looked shocked," he recalled.

At 7 a.m., after the newlyweds had been husband and wife for all of three hours, they decided to call their parents and tell them the big news. Spears' mother Lynne was apparently less than thrilled to hear about her new son-in-law.

"Britney phoned her mom, and I heard Lynne screaming back at her. She went nuts," Alexander said.

Within a few hours, Spears' brother and legal team arrived to take care of dissolving the marriage.

"Britney and her brother came back in, and he said we couldn't be married, it was wrong. Then one of her team said I was ruining her career, that her tour would be wrecked and her ticket sales lost. Britney and I just stood on different sides of the room and didn't speak to each other," Alexander said. "They spread a load of papers on the desk and said, if I cared about Britney, I'd sign them.

"The only person I cared about in that room was Britney, and they said if I didn't sign it, I was ruining her career. I had no choice, and Britney didn't stop me. I signed them under duress."

To add insult to injury, Alexander was then packed off home to Louisiana--seated in the economy section of the plane.

Just six months later, Spears is planning another wedding. There has been no word if Alexander made the invite list, but we'd be gobsmacked if he did.
