Ripa Reups for "Live"
Looks like Kelly Ripa's pert mug will be trading banter with Regis Philbin's glowing white chops for some time to come.
Reeg's bubbly sidekick has reupped her Live with Regis & Kelly contract for five more years for an undisclosed figure.
Various reports say Ripa will make around $40 million under the new deal.
While Ripa, 33, wasn't discussing numbers, she did comment that she was earning "probably too much."
Philbin, on the other hand, was quick to assert that his fellow yakker was making "not even close" to his take from the syndicated chatfest.
Ripa has pulled her weight on the show, earning three Daytime Emmy nominations for Best Talk Show Host in the three years since she replaced Kathie Lee Gifford.
But the morning gab session isn't the only gig on Ripa's roster. ABC recently ordered a second season of her female-friendly sitcom, Hope & Faith, in which she plays a washed-up soap star--appropriate, given the 12 years Ripa spent in a leading role on All My Children.
She's also a spokesmodel for Pantene Pro-V hair products, serving as inspiration to overbleached women everywhere.
In addition to her small-screen duties, Ripa is joining an all-star cast to voice a character in the upcoming animated adventure film Delgo, also featuring Val Kilmer, Jennifer Love Hewitt and Chris Kattan, among others. The 'toon is due out in 2005.
On top of her various camera-friendly responsibilities, Ripa is the mother of three children with husband, actor Mark Consuelos, whom she met on the set of All My Children and married in 1996.
It's unclear how the effervescent Ripa pulls it all off--but she's well aware of her rep as a can-do type.
"I do have a fear of unemployment," the gabber told TV Guide in 2002. "Because what if I quit one job and the other show goes off the air?"
It doesn't look like the perky workaholic has anything to worry about for the foreseeable future.
