A KILLING: Kill Bill: Volume 2 topped the weekend box office, earning $25.1 million, according to final figures out Monday. That was slightly more that the $22 million debut of Volume 1 last October.

CUT IT OUT: Michael Jackson obtaining a restraining order to stop a man from selling off Jackson memorabilia items that the pop star claims belong to him; the man was also told not to use Jackson's name or likeness on his Website.

TRUMPED? The New York Times reports that planned Donald Trump skyscraper project in Chicago doesn't have financing, which would leave Apprentice winner Bill Rancic without a job.

UPSTAGED: The Outer Critics Circle releasing the nominations for their awards celebrating the best of Broadway; Wicked and Fiddler on the Roof leading the field with 10 and six nominations respectively.

TELL IT TO THE JUDGE: Lil' Kim, who's charged with three other suspects in a 2001 shooting, wants to be tried separately from her co-defendants since she's not accused of using a weapon.

SETTING A DEADLINE: NBC announcing that Dec. 1 will be Tom Brokaw's last day anchoring NBC Nightly News. Brian Williams will take over the following day.

UNUSUAL SUSPECT: Kevin Spacey apologizing for filing a report with London police claiming he'd been "brutally mugged" at 4:30 a.m. Saturday while walking his dog in a park. He later retracted that statement and told the BBC he was really just embarassed because he'd been conned by a kid who stole his cell phone.

PAYBACK: A teenager who carjacked Eminem's mother, Debbie Nelson, in January was sentenced to more than four years in prison Monday and ordered to pay Nelson $3,473 in damages.

THE HORROR! Sissy Spacek, who first rose to fame as the star of 1976's Carrie, returning to the fright genre with a role opposite Naomi Watts in The Ring 2, which begins filming in May.

THE WEDDING PLANNER: Reese Witherspoon set to produce and star in The Proposal, a romantic comedy following a couple as they set about planning their wedding.

HE FEELS GOOD: A family court judge dissolving the first marriage of James Brown's wife, Tomi Rae Brown, to a Pakistani man on the grounds that it was never consummated, clearing the way for the Godfather of Soul to get an annulment from her. Once they annul, Brown says he and Tomi will remarry legally.

GIRLS, GIRLS, GIRLS: Former M?tley Cr?e frontman Vince Neil being sued for at least $20,000 for lost wages and other court costs by the former Moonlite BunnyRanch prostitute who accused him of assaulting her last July. Neil pleaded no contest in the case.

KUDOS: Ricky Gervais won awards for Best Comedy Performance and Best Sitcom for The Office at Sunday's British Academy TV Awards, Britain's equivalent of the Emmys. It's the third straight year Gervais claimed both prizes.

EVERGREEN Barbara Streisand's The Movie Album has been certified platinum, the 30th Streisand release to achieve 1 million in sales.

GOOD DEALS: A guitar used by late Nirvana singer Kurt Cobain selling for $117,000, down from a minimum estimate of $250,000 at Dallas' Heritage Galleries' auction. Also down was an antique piano formerly used by Elton John, which was estimated at $300,000 but only sold for $164,000.

TORI, TORI, TORI: Former Beverly Hills, 90210 star Tori Spelling set to costar in UPN's comedy pilot Me, Me, Me, about two attractive New York women who shamelessly climb the social ladder.

AILING: Johnnie Cochran, the attorney most famous for defending O.J. Simpson, recovering from an undisclosed neurological condition, according to his publicist. The condition is not life-threatening and he's expected to be back at work in no time.

NICK OF TIME: CSI: Miami star Sofia Milos telling The Late Late Show host Craig Kilborn she recently saved an elderly woman trapped in the back seat of a car that was rolling into traffic.

JUST PLAIN BAD: Starship's 1985 anthem "We Built This City" topping Blender's list of "The 50 Worst Songs Ever," hitting newsstands this week.
