Ozzy's Career Over?
It may be lights out for Ozzy Osbourne's musical career, according to the Prince of F--king Darkness himself.
The rocker is worried that his near-death ATV accident last December could prevent him from performing again.
Or at least that's what Ozzy tells Diana Sawyer during a Primetime interview airing tonight on ABC.
"Do you know there's--in my left shoulder I have a piece of metal approximately that long, that deep and screws in. And I'm really frightened that I won't be able to perform again 'cause that's the love of my life," Osbourne told the newslady.
Not to worry Oz fans. Seems the rocker was just being dramatic.
While his rep wouldn't comment on Ozzy's medical condition, she said the 55-year-old singer was still scheduled to tour this summer as part of the previously reported Ozzfest trek, which kicks off in July.
Details on the heavy metal tour are still to come but the bill reportedly includes such other headbangers as Slayer, Slipknot and Judas Priest, which recently reunited with vocalist Rob Halford after a 12-year hiatus.
There's some precedence for Ozzy's concern: He was forced to scrap a 20-date British tour following the crash to concentrate on his recovery, including several broken ribs, a fractured collarbone and a broken vertebra in his neck.
And as family and friends tell Sawyer, the metal legend was lucky to even survive the Dec. 8 accident.
A quick thinking security guard is credited with reviving Ozzy with CPR after the all-terrain vehicle he was driving flipped over and landed on top of him.
"He was the weirdest blue color when I turned him over--almost like, like someone had-- been dead for quite some time?so, I again cleared his throat, and--I just gave one good breath, and he started breathing again," said Sam Ruston.
The accident will be the focus of next week's episode of The Osbournes on MTV.
Despite her husband's erstwhile wild lifestyle, Sharon said she was unprepared to go it alone following the crash.
"You know, when you suddenly think well, what happens if my partner goes and I wake up in the morning and I'm on my own, and what do I do? I wouldn't know where to pick the pieces up and start," Sharon confided to Sawyer.
In the wake of Ozzy's trauma and the recent cancellation of her eponymous talk show, Mama Osbourne simply wants her brood happy, healthy and sober. "That's all," said Sharon. "It's not a lot,"
