Meat Loaf Collapses

Meat Loaf was more meat flapjack on Monday as he collapsed onstage during a sold-out concert.

After wiping out at London's Wembley Arena, the Loaf, real name Marvin Lee Aday, was treated for exhaustion at a nearby hospital.

The 56-year-old rocker's collapse was "due to a prolonged viral infection. It is not life-threatening," said a rep from his record label.

Meat Loaf reportedly tried to continue his performance before being advised by paramedics on the scene to cancel the show.

A spokesperson at Northwick Park Hospital, where Meat Loaf was taken, said he would be "re-evaluated by doctors today and further information about his status will be made available."

A second sold-out show planned for Tuesday night at Wembley has been postponed. While an announcement on his official fan site said both shows had been rescheduled for December, there's been no official word from his label on when/if the shows will be rescheduled.

The larger-than-life Texan is on tour to promote his new album, Couldn't Have Said It Better.

Meat Loaf's breakout '70s album Bat Out of Hell has sold nearly 15 million copies in the U.S. alone. It also ranks as the biggest-selling album ever in the U.K., according to The Guinness Book of World Record. He won a Grammy for 1993's "I'd Do Anything for Love (But I Won't Do That)." The Loaf has also been a familiar face in movies, including The Rocky Horror Picture Show and Fight Club.
