Oh Baby! It's a Girl for McCartney
All Paul McCartney needs is love, diapers and a college tuition fund.
The former Beatle and his wife, Heather Mills, are the proud parents of a baby girl.
Baby Beatrice made her appearance on Tuesday at 8:45 p.m. at the Hospital of St. John and St. Elizabeth in London, weighing in at seven pounds, according to a statement from the couple.
"She is a little beauty. We couldn't be prouder," said the new parents, adding that they were "ecstatic."
For those keeping track, Beatrice Milly McCartney was born three weeks premature and was delivered by Caesarean section.
Mother and child, who reportedly remain in the hospital, are both "doing well."
The little tyke was named in honor of Mills' late mother, Beatrice, and McCartney's aunt Milly.
Immediate family was notified of the news right away "and are all as overjoyed as we are at the early arrival of our little bundle of joy," concluded the statement from the couple.
It's a first child for Mills, 35, and the fourth child for McCartney, 61, who has three adult children (including designer Stella McCartney) and one stepdaughter from his longtime marriage to Linda Eastman, who died of breast cancer in April 1998.
The rock star widower and the anti-land-mine activist and advocate for the disabled swapped vows during a ceremony held at a 17th-century Irish castle in June 2002.
Earlier this year, Mills said in a television interview that her chances of conceiving were slim since she'd suffered from cancer and two ectopic pregnancies. The blonde babe also lost a leg in a traffic accident 10 years ago.
But the couple announced in May that they were expecting.
