"Sopranos" Whacked Pack Is Back

Some not-so-wise guys are getting a second chance on a very special episode of HBO's Mafia drama The Sopranos.

Among those to rise from the fishes next season are Vincent Pastore (aka Salvatore "Big Pussy" Bonpensiero), David Proval (Richie Aprile), John Heard (Detective Vin Makazian), Al Sapienza (Mikey Palmice), Dan Grimaldi (Philly "Spoons" Parisi) and Jason Cerbone (Jackie Aprile Jr.).

Even Joe Pantoliano (Ralph Cifaretto), who nabbed an Emmy for his role on The Sopranos, is expected to return if producers can accommodate the shooting schedule of his new CBS drama The Handler, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

The network refused to confirm the return of the dead, and reps for the actors are maintaining a Cosa Nostra-like silence on the report.

However, a source told the Reporter the characters are likely to be brought back to life in a dream sequence--a technique producers have used before to haunt Tony with the spirits of Big Pussy and other deceased associates.

The fifth season, currently in production, is scheduled to air 13 episodes starting in March 2004.

The sixth and final season is slated to start shooting in early 2005, which means fans will have to wait at least another two years to find out what happens to their favorite New Jersey Mob family.
