WEDDING NIXED: Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez delaying their weekend nuptials. The couple say they were overwhelmed by the "excessive media attention" surrounding their planned Santa Barbara wedding set for Sunday.

NO ROOM FOR ERROR? Jennifer Lopez allegedly making Ben Affleck sign a no-cheating prenup, according to England's Daily Mail. In the event that Affleck's unfaithful, J.Lo gets to go after half his money.

STAYING PUT: A Los Angeles judge refusing to release photographer accused of trying to extort $3 million from Cameron Diaz. John Rutter, jailed in lieu of $250,000 bail, was trying to get released on his own recognizance. His next hearing is set for November 3.

TEMPORARY SPLIT: Sharon Osbourne telling Barbara Walters she briefly left hubby Ozzy when he started drinking and abusing prescription drugs while their son Jack waited to be admitted into rehab. The interview will air on ABC's 20/20 on Friday.

SEX SOLD: Sex and the City sold into syndication to Tribune Broadcasting, a division of Warner Bros. Television. The series will bow in September 2005, airing six days a week.

ONE TO WATCH: P. Diddy announcing he'll run in the New York City Marathon on November 2.

BACK IN THE COCKPIT: Tom Cruise is angling to play Billy Fiske, the first American pilot killed fighting the Germans in World War II, in The Few for Paramount Pictures, reports Variety.

RECOVERING: Johnny Cash released from hospital after being treated for an undisclosed stomach ailment for the past two weeks. Cash's hospitalization forced him to miss the MTV VMA Awards, where his Nine Inch Nail's cover "Hurt" won for best cinematography. "He's home resting," Nicole Bates, a hospital spokeswoman, told the AP on Tuesday night.

BRIDGING TROUBLED WATERS: Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel reuniting for a 36-date North American tour beginning October 18 in Detroit. The duo last toured together more than 20 years ago.

KUDOCAST: Bill Cosby receiving the Bob Hope Humanitarian Award at the 55th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards on September 21; the award honors Cosby's career and his efforts to strengthen family values.

ENDLESS SUMMER: Fox ordering an additional nine episodes of its sudsy summer hit The O.C.. The show, which currently airs on Tuesdays, will be moving to Thursdays as of October 30.

SANTA JR. David Spade signing on to an untitled holiday-themed comedy for Columbia and Adam Sandler's shingle Happy Madison Productions, reports the Hollywood Reporter. Spade will play Kraig, son of Kringle, who teams up with an oddball elf and a group of underappreciated reindeer to save Christmas when it's threatened by outside forces.

PLAY FAIR: Coldplay is campaigning to give poor countries better access to global trade. Frontman Chris Martin and guitarist Jonny Buckland, who are part of the Make Trade Fair campaign, delivered a petition signed by 3 million to WTO Director General Supachai Panitchpakdi in Cancun yesterday.

MOTLEY CREW: Velvet Revolver signing a record deal with RCA to release its debut album in 2004--the band is made up of Stone Temple Pilots vocalist Scott Weiland, former Guns N' Roses guitarist Slash, bassist Duff McKagan, drummer Matt Sorum and guitarist Dave Kushner from Dave Navarro's band.

FEATHERS RUFFLED: Emily Robison of the Dixie Chicks coming out against Arnold Schwarzenegger's gubernatorial bid to a German newspaper. "[Schwarzenegger] is a great film star, but I find his run for governor absolutely insane," said Robison, on tour with the band in Europe. "America should be governed by people who have a clue," Robison continued. "I hope he doesn't win."

BUT IS IT NEWS? The FCC ruling Howard Stern's radio show is a "bona fide news interview" program. The designation allows Stern to put Arnold Schwarzenegger on the air without having to offer equal time to the other candidates running for governor in California.

UNDERCOVER SISTER: Two executive producers of Alias selling a new series to ABC about a young woman who struggles to balance her marriage with the demands and dangers of her career in the Secret Service, reports the Hollywood Reporter. Alias executive producer/director Ken Olin is attached to direct.

PEN IS MIGHTIER: Colin Farrell winning the title "Best Signer" in Autograph Collector magazine's 12th annual poll of celebrity autograph givers. Cameron Diaz is allegedly a dud at giving autographs.

KID'S STUFF: A 12-year-old girl one of the first to settle a piracy suit with the recording industry. On Tuesday, her mother was forced to pay $2,000 apologize and admit that her daughter's actions violated U.S. copyright laws.

OUT OF FAVOR: Barnes & Noble online no longer selling e-books because of limited sales and limited technology.
