Anthony Proves He's No Daddy
Marc Anthony needs you to know that the kid isn't his.
The salsa singer's lawyer says a third paternity test has proven that Anthony didn't father a Miami woman's baby, born late last year.
Cuban dancer-waitress Elizabeth Leyva filed a paternity suit in a Florida court earlier this year, claiming Anthony was her baby's daddy.
Anthony denied the allegation from the get-go and now has a trio of paternity tests to back him up.
According to Anthony's lawyer, Orin Snyder, the most recent DNA test proving the "I Need to Know" crooner wasn't the father was conducted by Orchid GeneScreen Aug. 13.
"The three leading paternity labs in the world have confirmed scientifically that he is not the father," Snyder said Monday. "There is no reality to this claim whatsoever."
Anthony's camp is asking Leyva to drop her suit.
"After more than a year of false accusations and harassment, Marc looks forward to putting this episode behind him and to moving on with his life," said a statement from Snyder last week.
Leyva has not yet responded.
Conventional wisdom held that Leyva's accusation helped speed the demise of Anthony's marriage to former Miss Universe Dayanara Torres this January.
The couple, who wed in 2000, have two young sons. Anthony also has a nine-year-old daughter from a previous relationship.
Anthony dashed any hopes of a reconciliation when he traveled to the Dominican Republic this May for a quickie divorce, granted in June by a Santa Domingo-based judge. The Grammy-winning singer sealed the deal a week later with an alleged secret wedding ceremony to Jennifer Lopez--an event still unconfirmed by both their reps.
Rumors of another baby, courtesy of J.Lo, have circulated ever since, but Anthony's camp is less forthcoming on those particular paternity claims.
