Marc Anthony on Diaper Duty
Usually when it comes to blackouts, it takes nine months before you get a baby boom. Marc Anthony apparently works a little quicker.
As the lights came up in New York after the Great Blackout of '03, the platinum-selling salsa-singing superstar had a new addition.
Anthony and his former Miss Universe wife, Dayanara Muniz, née Torres, celebrated the birth of a bouncing (or is that hip-shaking?) baby boy on Saturday morning at North Shore University Hospital in Long Island, his publicist confirmed Tuesday.
The child, named Ryan Anthony Muniz (Anthony's real name is Marco Antonio Muniz), arrived at 11:40 a.m., weighing a cozy seven pounds. According to the singer's publicist, both mother and son are "happy, healthy and doing well."
This is the couple's second tyke. Anthony, 33, and his 27-year-old wife have already passed on their supergenes to Cristian, who was born in February 2001. Anthony also has a nine-year-old daughter, Arianna, from a previous relationship.
Anthony and the missus tied the knot in May of 2000 in a whirlwind ceremony. Anthony spirited his bride-to-be to Las Vegas following the Blockbuster Awards in Los Angeles; by the end of the night, they were newlyweds.
But after Cristian's arrival, the handsome twosome hit a rough patch. They separated in 2002, only to mend their marriage by the end of last year and renew their vows in a more traditional ceremony in Puerto Rico.
Born in New York to Puerto Rican parents, the Grammy-winning Anthony developed a huge following in Latin America before taking American by storm with his self-titled English-language debut album, which spawned the mega-hit "I Need to Know," and went triple platinum.
