Patricia Arquette and fiancé Thomas Jane welcomed a baby girl into the world--four weeks ago.

Call today's happy announcement fortuitous timing or the machinations of a crafty celebrity publicist: Jane's movie Dreamcatcher opens tomorrow.

Regardless, Arquette gave birth February 20 and named the baby Harlow. "Mother and baby are doing fine," said a rep for the actress.

Arquette has a son, Enzo, from a previous relationship with musician Paul Rossi. It's a first child for Jane.

The winsome twosome were engaged last August following a movie-worthy performance from Jane. He appeared onscreen during a Charlie Chaplin film the couple were watching (a theater staffer helped edit him into the footage) holding an old-fashioned dialogue card asking Arquette to marry him. She said yes.

Arquette, 34, was previously married, divorced, reconciled and divorced again to Nicolas Cage and prior to that, was linked to Christian Slater. This will be a first walk down the aisle for Jane.

The Little Nicky star, part of an illustrious extended show-biz family including Rosanna Arquette, David Arquette and his wife, Courteney Cox Arquette, made her mark in 1993's True Romance. Arquette went on to star in several critically acclaimed but commercially dubious films, including Tim Burton's Ed Wood and David Lynch's Lost Highway. Up next, the actress will appear in two higher-profile projects: the comedy Tiptoes opposite Kate Beckinsale, Matthew McConaughey and Gary Oldman; and The Science of Sleep costarring Drew Barrymore.

Jane, 34, got his start with bit parts in the feature-film version of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Face/Off and Boogie Nights. The actor, who starred as Mickey Mantle in Billy Crystal's 61, assumed a leading-man mantle last year when he starred opposite Cameron Diaz in The Sweetest Thing. As mentioned above, he plays a psychiatrist in the Stephen King sci-fi thriller Dreamcatcher, in theaters this weekend.
