Elle Macpherson Goes Maternal
Maybe there's something in the Evian over in London--for the second time in the past week a supermodel has given birth in the city.
Last week, it was German catwalker Claudia Schiffer. This time around, it's Aussie superbabe Elle Macpherson doing the pushing.
Macpherson gave birth to a baby boy Tuesday, her publicist has announced. Said tyke, dubbed Aurelius Cy Andrea, tipped the scales at seven pounds, 11 ounces.
For those keeping score at home, it's the second boy for the now 39-year-old Sports Illustrated swimsuit modeler known as "the Body" and fiancé Arpad Busson, known as one very lucky Swiss guy.
"Aurelius Cy Andrea Busson will be a cherished brother to their son, Flynn, who turns five on Valentine's Day," Macpherson's rep said.
According to the Associated Press, little Aurelius made his grand entrance at London's choice celebrity baby-birthing spot, St. John and St. Elizabeth Hospital in northwest London. The site has seen the likes of Jerry Hall and Sadie Frost (aka Mrs. Jude Law) in the throes of labor.
One of the few London-based celebs not to give birth there in recent years was Schiffer, who delivered her first child, Caspar, last Thursday at the city's equally swanky Portland Hospital.
The 32-year-old Schiffer, who delivered Caspar via Caesarean section, got her walking papers on Wednesday and exited the hospital with Caspar and her British husband, producer Matthew Vaughn. (Schiffer is apparently feeling well enough to agree to testify at the trial of her alleged stalker next month.)
The family is said to be currently ensconced in their mansion in Suffolk in eastern England.
As for Macpherson, she gave birth the old-fashioned way. She and Busson, an item since 1996, finally became engaged last year but have not yet announced a wedding date.
For now at least, they have more pressing things to attend to.
