Winona Back to Work

Looks like Saksgate didn't hurt Winona Ryder's career too much.

The actress is set to earn clothes money from a starring role opposite Everybody Loves Raymond's Ray Romano in Eulogy, according to Daily Variety.

It'll be her first role since her shoplifting conviction in November.

Eulogy is described as a black comedy focusing on three generations of a dysfunctional family that come together to mourn the family patriarch. In the Six Feet Under-esque plot, many of the family's deepest secrets will be revealed.

The film, which will costar Monica Potter, Debra Winger, Hank Azaria and Rip Torn, begins shooting on February 21. Michael Clancy, who will be making his directing debut on the project for Artisan Pictures, wrote the screenplay.

Eulogy proves there is an afterlife in Hollywood for the Mr. Deeds star, found guilty of making off with $6,000 in trendy gear from the Beverly Hills Saks Fifth Avenue. Her penalty: three years of supervised probation, 480 hours of community service, drug and psychiatric counseling and $10,000 in fines and restitution. Saks also banned her from shopping there.

Not that Winona will be wanting for duds. The 31-year-old two-time Oscar nominee will reportedly be playing up her sticky-fingered antics by modeling for designer Marc Jacobs--whose fashions were among those she pilfered. She'll be swathed in Jacobs' spring creations as part of a spring/summer ad campaign.

Eulogy will likely hit theaters at the end of this year or early 2004.
