Third Tyke a Charm for Ripa
Regis Philbin's perky sidekick revealed on the Wednesday edition of Live with Regis and Kelly that she and her soap stud husband, Mark Consuelos, are expecting their third child sometime in February.
No word on whether the baby is a boy or a girl.
"We'll take whatever we get," Ripa, 31, gushed, adding that this probably will be her last, "because three is a nice, civilized number."
While congratulating his partner in yak, Reeg also lamented (kiddingly, we're sure) the return of diaper talk on the daytime chatfest.
"We're going to have to go through this again?" he asked, putting his hand to his head.
Ripa and Consuelos, who met through their recurring roles on ABC's All My Children, already have two tykes--five-year-old Michael and year-old Lola. After giving birth to her daughter last June, Ripa took a month-long sabbatical from her TV gigs to spend time at home.
No doubt she'll repeat the pattern early next year.
Ripa shot to fame playing Hayley Santos on AMC before replacing Kathie Lee Gifford in the hot seat opposite Philbin last February. (Gifford bid adieu to the show in July 2000 and Ripa was the most popular of several fill-in foils.)
In July, Ripa denied a report saying she would be giving up her Daytime Emmy-nominated stint on AMC in December when her contract expires to focus solely on Live.
Still, Ripa told TV Guide earlier this summer, "I've always said to Mark, as soon as his film career takes off, I'm staying home with the kids. That's sort of my ambition."
