So long as Marie doesn't wear a babydoll dress, sounds like fun for the whole family.

Harkening back to their variety-hour roots, sweet-faced siblings Donny and Marie Osmond have signed up for a long-term engagement on the Las Vegas Strip, a 90-minute "greatest hits multimedia spectacular" that will premiere Sept. 9 at the Flamingo Las Vegas.

The gig is expected to run for 26 weeks, Tuesday through Saturday, spread out over eight months. The Osmonds will take over the Flamingo Showroom, which has been dark for most of April while resident act Toni Braxton takes time off to deal with her health. Braxton is expected to resume performing next month and stay on until her contract winds down in August.

Impressionist (and part-time inspirational-pop singer) Danny Gans, a Sin City fixture for more than a decade, and his GansLight Entertainment partner Chip Lightman will be producing the Osmonds' act.

"My version of a variety show has been what Vegas has known thus far," Gans said Friday. "What we have now is a true variety show which conveys the real essence of America and the country's love of homegrown talent."

There's no word yet on whether Vegas will have to temporarily change its Sin City moniker while the famously wholesome duo are in residence.

With a daytime talk show on tap for Marie and a new permanent role for Donny as cohost of The Insider, there is definitely some multitasking in this pair's future. But before fans have to worry about booking tickets to Vegas, they'll be able to spy the Osmonds May 11, the 100th anniversary of Mother's Day, on NBC when they preside over America's Favorite Mom.

It will be Donny and Marie's first performance together in eight years—so, for the Flamingo's sake, here's hoping the brother and sister still know how to bring it, Osmond-style.
