Strike Fears Delay Carson-Tara Nuptials

Nothing like a romantic honeymoon on the picket line.

At least that's what MTV's everyman veejay Carson Daly and his Josie and the Pussycats fianc?e Tara Reid must be thinking right about now.

The pair has indefinitely postponed their May wedding plans, according to published reports, so Reid can shoot one more movie before a possible actors strike in July.

Guests had already received their invites for the wedding, which was scheduled for the second week in May. But Reid told TV Guide that she and Daly opted to postpone, after she scored a role in The Guest, a film directed by David Zucker and costarring That '70s Show's Ashton Kutcher and Saturday Night Live alum Molly Shannon.

"So the good news is I got another movie. That bad news is the wedding is not happening," she said, deflecting any speculation that she dissed Daly because he couldn't get the new Josie and the Pussycats single on the TRL countdown. "I had picked out the bridesmaids' dresses and the invitations, but we just canceled everything."

Reid, the 25-year-old babe from such films as American Pie and The Big Lebowski, and Daly, ideal husband of 12-year-old girls everywhere, first met last year during MTV's Spring Break coverage in Cancun. The two soon became attached at the hip, and promptly announced their engagement last October.

Since then, Reid has donned a tail and ears to play sex-kitten drummer Melody in the film version of Josie and the Pussycats, which hits theaters April 11. Daly, 27, has a bit part in the film.

Daly, meanwhile, has been keeping busy as well, serving as Viacom's resident young emcee, continuing his daily duties on MTV's afternoon teeny-bopper fest, Total Request Live, and serving as host for CBS' David Copperfield Tornado of Fire spectacle Tuesday night. He'll also be returning to his radio roots this month with a pair of syndicated shows.

The duo have not set a new date for the wedding, but Reid told TV Guide they're taking their time. "I'm 25 years old. Right now we both have to make adjustments. Once we kind of settle a bit, it will just be a better time to try to plan a wedding."
