New Arrival for Duchovny and Leoni

Forget the truth, the youth is out there for X-Files star David Duchovny and wife T?a Leoni.

The two celebrated the birth of their first child this weekend.

Appropriately enough, the kid has double-X chromosomes--in other words, it's a girl!

Madelaine West Duchovny was born Saturday in a Los Angeles-area hospital, tipping the scales at 7.5 pounds and measuring 20.5 inches. A publicist says all involved are "doing beautifully."

Duchovny, 38, and Leoni, 33, married in May 1997--his first, her second.

The freshly minted father will remain steadily employed as FBI man Fox Mulder through the 1999-2000 TV season.

Mom's credits include the 1998 death-from-above flick Deep Impact and the 1996 comedy Flirting with Disaster.
