TOP OF THE NEWS: The man accused of drowning Tito Jackson's ex-wife was in a Los Angeles court today facing murder charges as Jermaine and Jackie Jackson watched from the gallery.

INVESTIGATING: Los Angeles police continue to interview upwards of 200 witnesses today in the shooting death of the rapper Christopher Wallace, known as Notorious B.I.G. At a press conference this afternoon, police said the assailaint was "lying in wait."

SIDESHOW: Dennis Rodman has signed a deal to become a professional wrestler this summer. He will team with Hulk Hogan for a match on July 13 in Daytona Beach, Florida.

BACK ONLINE: Former NBC programming boss Brandon Tartikoff is joining America Online's new interactive entertainment division. AOL also bought LightSpeed Media, whose founders started The Spot.

QUEL HORREUR! Relatives of Victor Hugo have accused Disney of "commercial debauchery" for the way it marketed The Hunchback of Notre Dame last year. A Disney spokesman defended the company, saying the movie introduced "millions of children" to Hugo's novel.

WEDNESDAYZ N THE HOOD: In an effort to curb theater violence, studios are increasingly opening black-themed films on Wednesdays.

PITY THE FOOL: Two creditors want a judge to force Mr. T to sell his house. The two men convinced a jury last summer that they created T's character and were awarded $5 million. Now they're suing again, hoping to get some of their money by forcing him to sell his house.

O.J. UPDATE: Judge Hiroshi Fujisaki has signed three separate judgmenets in the O.J. Simpson wrongful death case. That means each of the plaintiffs can pursue individual damages awarded to them by the jury.

OPTIONS: With the cast of Seinfeld and NBC deadlocked over salary, the company is now considering giving Jerry Seinfeld stock in parent company GE with the idea that he would pass some of it along to fellow cast members in lieu of more money, says Daily Variety.

CHORES: The ten-year-old Olsen twins from TV's Full House, Ashley and Mary-Kate, have made a series of straight-to-video movies that earned $77 million, says the Wall Street Journal. Their parents give them an allowance of $10 a week.

CAVING? After hearing criticism of their rating system at that recent Senate hearing, TV industry lobbyists now want to modify the system to include more specific information about sex and violence in programs.

VIDEO STORE:The top five rentals, according to Videolog, for the week of March 3 through 9: That Thing You Do!, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Jack, Phenomenon, A Very Brady Sequel.

KNOCKED OUT: Cinergi announced it would pull the plug on The Broadway Brawler, Bruce Willis' next flick, in the middle of production. The director and cinematographer were fired after Willis and Cinergi decided they didn't like the way the movie was going. Willis may shoot The Trail as his next film. It's a sci-fi remake of the classic Western, The Searchers.

BEYOND INFINITY: Walt Disney Home Video is expected to announce Monday that Tim Allen and Tom Hanks have agreed to return as the voices of Buzz Lightyear and Woody in a made-for-video sequel to Toy Story, says the Hollywood Reporter.

MIDSEASON: NBC's midseason police drama Prince Street posted an 11.6 rating and 21 share in the Thursday 10-11 p.m. slot usually occupied by ER. The popular bedpan series averages a 21/35 in the slot.

ALL CAPS: Fox's cable channel has changed its name from fX to FX to show its "new strength," said an executive...Look for months-old reruns of Tom Snyder's latenight show on CBS to be a feature of the network's new cable channel, Eye on People when it debuts on March 31.

WORKING GIRL: Sigourney Weaver will present an Oscar. She received best-actress nominations for Alien and Gorillas in the Mist and one supporting actress nomination for Working Girl.

WHISPERED: Oscar nominee Kristin Scott Thomas is in serious talks to star in The Horse Whisperer opposite Robert Redford, who will also direct, says Daily Variety. For all the casting news, see The Dotted Line.
