Voicing Darth Vader, CNN and God has its benefits.

He of the soothing tones, Emmy-, Golden Globe- and Tony-winning James Earl Jones has been selected by the Screen Actors Guild as the latest recipient of its Life Achievement Award for his thespian and humanitarian accomplishments.

The 77-year-old star was cited for his "long and quiet devotion to advancing literacy, the arts and humanities on a national and local scale."

Jones, who will pick up the prize at the 15th Annual SAG Awards in January, will need to make some room in his trophy case.

The veteran thesp already has three Emmys, six Desk Drama Awards, two Obies, two Tonys, a National Medal of Arts, a Kennedy Center Honor and even a Grammy.

It will, however, mark his first-ever SAG Award. Your move, Oscar.
