Khloé Kardashian didn't exactly get a gold star today.

Kim's sister and Keeping Up With the Kardashians costar, in a Van Nuys, Calif., court for a progress hearing in DUI case, was scolded by the judge for not completing the terms of her probation in a timely fashion.

But her lawyer says Kardashian is on the way to clearing her record.

"Khloé has one class remaining to complete," attorney Shawn Chapman Holley tells E! News. "In my book, this is substantial compliance with her court-ordered requirements and demonstrates how seriously she is taking her case.

"He did not revoke her probation and gave her a reasonable time frame within which to finish her class."

The judge gave Kardashian until Nov. 17 to complete her required alcohol-education classes. Holley says there is a long waiting list to get into her needed morgue course, designed to show drivers the possible consequences of drunken driving.

Kardashian was sentenced to a month in jail on July 3, when Holley admitted in court that Khloé had completed neither the alcohol-education program nor the 36 months' probation and community service that was mandated as part of her DUI sentence. Kardashian pleaded no contest to misdemeanor driving under the influence back in March 2007.

She wound up serving under five hours behind bars.
