Dance Queen Takes No Comfort in Injury

Jessica King, So You Think You Can Dance Joe Viles/FOX

With Dancing With the Stars on summer hiatus, the curse of the toe-tapping reality show has had to make do with the unlucky hotsteppers at So You Think You Can Dance.

Shortly after making the cut as one of the Fox show's top 10 finalists, contestant Jessica King has been forced to leave the competition after suffering an unspecified injury.

Recently ousted semifinalist Comfort Fedoke will return to take King's place in the competition.

"I would like to say how sorry I am that Jessica cannot continue dancing in the competition at the advice of her doctor," said the show's token acerbic British judge and executive producer, Nigel Lythgoe.

"Her full recovery is paramount and will only come with rest. We are fortunate that Comfort has agreed to rejoin the competition and know that under the circumstances she had Jessica's full support."

Fedoke will rejoin the remaining finalists on Wednesday's two-hour performance show, when the producers will mess with the minds and rhythms of the dancers by pairing them with new partners. The following night, the shoes of two more dancers will be forced into early retirement on the live hourlong results show.
