Cops Don't Mind Ike, Nikki Blonsky's Case Still On

The motion of the ocean and the rain from above won't stop Nikki Blonsky from having her day in court.
Contrary to reports suggesting that fallout from Hurricane Ike and ongoing relief efforts in the Turks and Caicos Islands might leave the justice system with better things to do than prosecute the Hairspray star and her father for their July 29 airport dustup, a rep for the island's police department confirms that officials never planned to drop the case.
"No, the court system is back up and running," Sgt. Calvin Chase told E! News Wednesday. "We wouldn't abandon a case because of relief efforts. We just had to schedule new dates."
Nikki and dad Carl Blonsky are due in court Dec. 1, where she will answer to charges of common assault and actual bodily harm and Carl is facing a count of inflicting grievous bodily harm.
They are both accused of tussling with former America's Next Top Model contestant Bianca Golden at Turks and Caicos' Providenciales International Airport, reportedly due to some misplaced confusion over how many seats the Blonsky family was occupying to rest their luggage.
Golden, who was also charged with actual bodily harm and assault, originally had a court appearance scheduled for today but has since been put off to Nov. 24.
