• Now that she's found her dad, Mamma Mia! gal Amanda Seyfried can start searching for her man. Per Variety, the 22-year-old Big Lover will star in Dear John, Lasse Hallstrom's feature film based on the Nicholas Sparks bestseller, playing a young woman who falls in love with a soldier on leave from Iraq (Channing Tatum). Cameras roll next month in South Carolina.

Lost casualty Harold Perrineau is ready for another Killing. He's joining Michael Madsen and Danny Trejo in Killing Jar, an indie thriller about a shotgun-wielding stranger who sparks a hostage standoff at a roadside diner. Perrineau will play one of the hostages who's possibly more dangerous than his attacker. Yeah, he's got a kid with some seriously spooky powers.

• The Rock's alive with the sound of music. Julie Andrews will play boss to Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson in Tooth Fairy, about a minor-league hockey player who, after spoiling a kid's dreams, is sentenced to one week as a real-life tooth fairy replete with wand and tutu. Andrews is an administrator at the Tooth Fairy Dept. Ashley Judd also stars.

Patricia Heaton, Treat Williams and Jimmy Wolk have come aboard the Hallmark Hall of Fame TV movie Front of the Class. This CBS drama focuses on the true story of a man who overcomes Tourette's Syndrome (Wolk) to become a gifted teacher. Heaton and Williams will play his parents.

Jeff Daniels, Ryan Reynolds and Lisa Kudrow are on the Paper trail. The trio will star in Paper Man, an indie comedy about a middle-aged author who strikes up an unusual friendship with a Long Island teen.
