Pete & Ashlee: Tyga Takes Back Twins Talk

Despite his slippery lip slip Saturday, telling E! News that Pete Wentz and Ashlee Simpson-Wentz are expecting twins, it seems rapper Tyga is no longer sticking to that story.

"Oh, I said that?" Tyga remarked to E! News when asked later, at the post-VMA Pepsi Blue Carpet Bash, about his statements. "Why was everyone asking me that at the VMAs? Everyone was asking me! They said that they heard from Tyga that they’re having twins.”

And since Pete's pal is now taking back that pregnancy possibility, he decided to provide E! News with yet another scenario...

“Actually, I heard they adopted a little African kid. That’s what Pete told me to tell everyone.”

Well, that's certainly a new one.

Meanwhile, not only has a rep for the couple denied speculation of two babies on the way, but Ashlee's sis, Jessica Simpson, insisted it's "definitely not twins" when asked about the rumor while calling into the Yo on E! radio show today.

As for Tyga, what exactly is the deal behind his differing declarations? Is he simply trying to scoop up some spilled beans? Or is he just yanking our baby-bumpin'-obsessed chain?
