New Charges Filed Against 40-Year-Old Virgin Actor

Prosecutors have filed new charges against 40-Year-Old Virgin actor Shelly Malil, who is accused of stabbing his ex-girlfriend 20 times on Aug. 10 in San Marcos, Calif.
During a Superior Court hearing Friday, the 43-year-old actor was charged with residential burglary and assault with a deadly weapon for allegedly attacking another man who was present during the incident.
Prosecutors say Malil stabbed his ex, Kendra Beebe, 35, at her home while her two children slept. A man with Beebe at the time grabbed one knife but Malil found another and continued the attack until a neighbor disarmed him. Beebe is expected to recover from the deep wounds to her lungs and throat.
A judge also reduced Malil's bail on Friday from $10 million to $3 million, after his attorney argued he wasn't a flight risk.
Malil, who played Steve Carell's coworker Haziz in Virgin, has been jailed since Aug. 11. He faces life in prison if convicted.
