The guy accused of stealing a bunch of stuff from Kirsten Dunst is paying for it in spades.

Jarrod Beinerman, 33, was sentenced to four and a half years in jail after pleading guilty to attempted burglary in connection with the theft of a $13,000 Balenciaga bag, an iPod and various other goodies from Dunst's suite last year at the Soho Grand Hotel in Manhattan.

Pleading to the lesser charge allowed Beinerman to avoid more serious counts of burglary and grand larceny. While not copping to any thievery, the offender "admitted being in the hotel" on Aug. 9, 2007, when the incident took place, defense attorney Mitchell Elman told the New York Daily News.

A spokeswoman for the Manhattan District Attorney's Office told E! News at the time that security cameras caught two men leaving the hotel's penthouse, where Dunst was staying while in town to film scenes from the comedy How to Lose Friends & Alienate People.

The Brooklyn-based Beinerman, who already had a lengthy rap sheet and had served three years in prison for his role in a cocaine ring, was arrested shortly afterward during a court hearing on unrelated charges. His accomplice has not been identified.
