If there's anyone who knows what it takes to get a proposal from Jason Mesnick, it's DeAnna Pappas.

"You definitely have to do something to put yourself out there to get their attention but don’t be that girl," the former Bachelorette star told Yo on E! Thursday when asked what advice she has for the 25 ladies who will vie for Mesnick's heart on the next season of The Bachelor.

"Have some respect," Pappas added, also reminding potential suitorettes of Mesnick's love of traveling and dancing. "He is going to notice you. It's just like when a guy walks into a bar and you see a bunch of girls. You know right off the bat five of them that you know are hot and you really, really want to talk to.

"You’re going to remember those five, I promise. The other ones, it’s going to take a little bit, but you know once you remember them, it works."

Of course, that's easy for her to say. The divorced single dad was nearly down on one knee when Pappas informed him that she was in love with someone else on the July 7 Bachelorette finale.

Pappas' fiancé, Jesse Csincsak, the one left kneeling at the end of the day, offered this nugget of wisdom: "Don't take your underwear off and hand it to him."

That, and: "My advice to anyone going on the show is to be yourself, don’t compromise yourself for anybody or anything."

Mesnick, whom the happy couple is planning to invite to their May 9 wedding in the Bahamas, "needs someone who is down to earth and doesn’t care about all the business going around, because Jason’s normal," Pappas added. "He’s just like us. He is a normal guy. He could care less about the show, the business, the publicity, the L.A. scene. He doesn’t care. He wants someone who is going to make him happy and be in love for the true reasons.

Knowing Mesnick the way she does, Pappas also advised women to remember that Jason's 3-year-old son, Ty, will always be his first love.

"Jason needs that girl who is ready for the life that he is ready for," Pappas said. "You know he has Ty. It has to be a woman that loves children, because that child is the cutest thing in the whole world.

"He’s the most important thing in Jason’s life."

So, while the Bachelor is on their guest list, do Pappas and Csincsak think that they'll be invited to witness Mesnick's second trip down the aisle, whenever that may occur?

"I hope we are," Csincsak said.
