If The Hunger Games truly wants to be the next It franchise, it has some big shoes to fill, that's for sure. With the Harry Potter films finally at an end and Twilight on its way out the door, it's about time this wannabe teen phenom stepped it up.

And it appears THG is already trying to separate itself from the pack with a fierce new promotional poster! But that's not all. Check out the motion version...

It's animated and on fire. Take that, Twilight!

We admit it. We were a little disappointed by the first official poster for Breaking Dawn Part I. We get that the artist was going for the rising sun metaphor, but it looks downright boring. And it robbed us of the opportunity to ogle at Robert Pattinson's beautiful face. Even without featuring the actors, The Hunger Games' simple, fiery motion poster is a serious upgrade. Color us impressed.

The poster features Katniss' (Jennifer Lawrence) signature mockingjay pin engulfed in furious animated flames. The mockingjay serves as the symbol of rebellion against the tyrannical government of Panem. The token phrase of the games, "May the odds be ever in your favor," is also included at the top.

We're sure this poster is bound to attract attention. Maybe even the attention of some—gasp!Twi-hards? The horror!

The film, also starring Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Elizabeth Banks, Stanley Tucci, Woody Harrelson and Lenny Kravitz, is set for a March 23, 2012 release.

Now if only we could find a way to mount this on our wall...
