Martin Scorsese is changing up his game with Hugo.

Instead of gangster mob tales or suspenseful thrillers, the legendary filmmaker is focusing on kids, and the adventures they take on to solve a very personal family mystery.

And in 3-D!

The film, based on Brian Selznick's New York Times bestseller, The Invention of Hugo Cabret, features quite the cast with Jude Law, Sacha Baron Cohen and Ben Kingsley all having starring roles.

But still secondary to one little guy...

Asa Butterfield plays Hugo, an orphan boy who lives in a Paris train station and is desperatly trying to find the connection between the father he recently lost, the toy shop owner living below him and a heart-shaped lock, that doesn't have a key.

But he doesn't have to go it alone: Hugo teams up with Isabelle, played by Kick Ass'  Chloe Grace Moretz.

Hugo hits theaters Nov. 23
