We hear that they were doing it anyway, but now audience members are actually going to be encouraged to sing and dance in the aisles while watching Mamma Mia!

Universal Pictures announced Tuesday that a sing-along version of the critically panned yet infectiously upbeat ABBA-fest will be unleashed in selected theaters Aug. 29.

Mamma Mia!: The Sing-Along Edition will feature the lyrics to every tune, from "Dancing Queen" to "Waterloo," printed onscreen for your belting pleasure. Further details about locales and show times will eventually be available on the movie's official website.

And while there's no cause to don a French maid uniform (ladies) or a lacy corset and garters (Tim Curry-channeling gentlemen) like you would to a midnight Rocky Horror Picture Show screening, feel free to wear your overalls.

Despite the nearly universal critical opinion that the joy of Mamma Mia! on stage didn't really translate onto the big screen, the Meryl Streep-starring musical has grossed more than $323 million worldwide, including $116.9 million on U.S. shores.
