"Official" Girl With the Dragon Tattoo Trailer Hits the Web

Just a day after Sony insists it did not leak a previous trailer for the movie, another one comes along

Despite all the speculation that the leaked "red-band" Girl With the Dragon Tattoo trailer that made its way around the Internet over the weekend (and then quickly disappeared) was actually put out there by Sony as part of some sneaky viral campaign, the studio insisted to E! News yesterday that they had nothing to do with it.

Great. Glad that's been cleared up. Now, how about we all just sit back, relax and enjoy the legit trailer for the highly anticipated David Fincher flick. Or, as the tagline reads: "The Feel Bad Movie of Christmas."

But is it really real?

Yes. Studio sources confirm to E! News that this is indeed the real trailer that isn't supposed to be officially released until midnight. Just don't ask how it snuck out early, because Sony ain't saying.

At least this one doesn't look like it was simply recorded in some theater using a shaky camcorder. But it still features all sorts of cool, rapid-fire cuts showing a wide range of moments accompanied by Trent Reznor and Karen O's cover of Led Zeppelin's "Immigrant Song." (And, as opposed to the blink-and-you'll-miss-it nipple shot in the earlier trailer, this one is nudity-free and perfectly SFW.)

The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo is scheduled for release on Dec. 21.

Let the hype begin.
