Gwyneth Gets Skinned by PETA

Shakespeare might be in love with Gwyneth Paltrow, but PETA certainly isn't.

The animal-rights organization is lashing out at the Oscar winner for posing in a fur wrap as part of a new campaign to promote the autumn-winter collection for Tod's, the Italian company known for its leather shoes, handbags and other high-end accessories.

"Gwyneth Paltrow won't be the apple of her daughter's eye if she flaunts the skins of once-beautiful animals," says a PETA spokesperson in a statement sent to E! News. "Promoting an industry that electrocutes animals, snaps their necks, and skins them alive is a shocking example to set for a young child."

PETA claims to have sent letters to the actress, along with videos depicting animal cruelty, but have yet to receive a response, saying, "Apparently, Paltrow's beauty really is only skin deep."

It's times like these that Gwynnie probably wishes she was the one with the Iron Man suit.
