Eureka! Dallas 30th Reunion Set

Dallas CBS

J.R., Bobby, Sue Ellen and the gang are going back to Dallas.

To celebrate its 30th anniversary, castmembers of CBS' popular prime-time soap opera, including Larry Hagman, Linda Gray and Patrick Duffy have confirmed plans to attend a Dallas reunion party to be thrown at the Southfork Ranch just north of the show's namesake city.

Dallas, which chronicled the ever-changing fortunes of rival Texas oil clans, ran from 1978 to 1991 and was one of the most successful drama series ever.

With its Machiavellian plot twists and cliff-hanger endings—including 1980's landmark second season finale that introduced "Who Shot J.R.?" into the pop culture lexicon—Dallas grabbed the attention of millions of baby boomers and even developed a worldwide following.

In honor of its achievements, some of the key players will be on hand for the event, which will take place Nov. 8. And the best part is it will be open to the public.

"I may not be able to do the 40th," the 76-year-old Hagman told the Dallas Morning News. "Thirty years is pretty good, and the show is still very popular."

No word whether other cast members including Victoria Principal, Charlene Tilton, Ken Kercheval or Steve Kanaly.

Tickets range from $100 to $1,000 and are scheduled to go on sale Aug. 22.

As part of the bash, Dallas devotees will be able to take part in a Q&A with Hagman and company and given a tour of the famed Southfork mansion. There will also be a country-music concert and fireworks.

Alas, fans who attend the reunion shouldn't expect much scheming and backstabbing from the Ewing household these days.

"Larry and I will have a bowl of Mueslix and a small shot of prune juice and be in bed by nine o'clock," Duffy, who played good brother Bobby Ewing, told the paper. "We'll let people file by the bed and watch us go to sleep. I think we can hang with the best of them until midnight."

A big-screen version of Dallas has been stuck in development hell with several notable A-listers rumored to be attached at one point or another, among them John Travolta playing J.R., in addition to Jennifer Lopez as Pam Ewing, Jessica Simpson as Lucy Ewing and Shirley MacLaine as family matriarch Miss Ellie.
